University Of Texas System And Medline To Enhance Supply Chain Strategy And Outcomes

Posted: 29 Jun 2020 11:07 AM PDT

NORTHFIELD, Ill., June 29, 2020 /PRNewswire/ --  Medline today announced a $120 million annual partnership with  The University of Texas System Supply Chain Alliance.  This award provides distribution services to the UT System's three acute care institutions: UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and UT Medical Branch in Galveston.

Prior to choosing Medline as their MedSurg Distributor, the three institutions were using different distributors. Now, their distribution is integrated across all three institutions under one vendor.

"The UT System Supply Chain Alliance worked through a competitive process and based this choice off of the level of service that could be provided today and in the future. They've identified Medline as an organization they could forge a long-term collaboration with and we're excited to dive in," says Brian Adcock, vice president of corporate sales, Medline.

Medline leveraged multiple teams by giving branch tours, conducting logistical assessments and countless meetings, and by continuing to build relationships with the accounts.

"Ultimately," says Adcock, "the UT System Supply Chain Alliance chose Medline because of our ability to be an integrated partner on a path towards a best-in-class supply chain."

Splashtop Expands EU Presence To Support Remote-Work Strategies In The Region

Posted: 29 Jun 2020 11:03 AM PDT

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 29, 2020 /PRNewswire/ --  Splashtop Inc., a leading remote-access software firm, announced today that it is strengthening its European Union (EU) presence to make it easier for enterprises and individuals in the region to productively and easily work from home, and deliver IT support remotely. Splashtop is launching an instance of its remote-access solution in a Germany-based cloud data center, with a local user database plus support for Euro currency.

"The COVID-19 pandemic is making working from home a new normal, while increasing demand for things like remote IT support and remote access to classroom computer labs," said Mark Lee, CEO of Splashtop. "As a result, it's more important than ever to reduce work-from-home and remote-support barriers. In addition to localizing the products in multiple languages, we realized that providing local Euro payment, meeting compliance and offering multilingual customer support and sales teams would allow more enterprises and individuals in the EU to benefit from our offerings."

Splashtop's Euro currency support will enable its EU customers to avoid currency exchange fluctuations. With Splashtop now having a local European data center and more local relay servers, EU users will enjoy improved performance of the Splashtop remote access software, through lower latency and frame rates higher than 40 frames per second (FPS). The new Germany-based data center also includes a local user database that provides enhanced support for Europe's General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

A Phased Approach to Global ExpansionIn addition to its global headquarters in Silicon Valley, Splashtop has established its Asian presence and created a robust ecosystem to support the regulatory requirements for doing business in China, Japan and throughout Asia. Earlier this year, Splashtop opened its EMEA ( Europe, Middle East and Africa) headquarters in Amsterdam and appointed Alexander Draaijer as its General Manager for EMEA.

Many EU countries, including Italy, Spain and France, have been hard hit by COVID-19, sending companies scrambling to ensure their business continuity and create effective work-from-home strategies. With Splashtop products easier to purchase and use, more EU businesses and individuals will be able to take advantage of Splashtop's affordable, easy-to-use cloud-based and on-premises remote access solutions, which feature enterprise-grade security and reliability.

"From a professional point of view, Splashtop has proven to be particularly useful in the era of the Coronavirus," said Aurélien Freudenreich, IT manager for IMED Conseil, a France-based company specializing in the computerization of medical and dental practices. "For example, we have created a number of 'guest' user accounts to give doctors direct access to their practice computers from remote locations, which allows them to access their patient files from home and also to bill for telemedicine consultations when the practices are closed."

"As a platform supporting tens of millions of users, Splashtop enables organizations to embrace the modern way of working—work from anywhere, secure, efficient and mobile—which creates a productive and more empowered workforce," said Mark Lee.

You can learn more about Splashtop's expansion here.

Certified Piedmontese Further Invests In Grass Fed Beef Operations To Meet Demand & Offer Consumers High-Quality, Source-Verified Products

Posted: 29 Jun 2020 11:08 AM PDT

LINCOLN, Neb., June 29, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Certified Piedmontese—a Lincoln, Nebraska-based beef company—looks to expand its source verified, grass fed, grass finished beef operations to meet consumer demand for high-quality grass fed, grass finished beef.

"We know consumers want a better, USA raised and produced grass finished product," says Joe Finegan, Online Sales Coordinator. "Our grass finished beef simply outperforms all other breeds and programs in tenderness and flavor."

The Certified Piedmontese grass fed, grass finished beef program is Where Food Comes From source verified by IMI Global, an established and accredited source for third-party verification of food production practices. Certified Piedmontese also subscribes to self-imposed audits regularly through IMI Global and other progressive agencies to verify each of its farm-to-fork processes and claims, so consumers know exactly where and how the beef is raised.

Certified Piedmontese has a fully stocked variety of grass fed, grass finished steaks, roasts, and more at Piedmontese.com.

Increasing Growth & DemandAs topics like animal welfare and regenerative agriculture (the idea that ruminant animals are key to a healthy ecosystem) become mainstream, consumer demand for high-quality, responsibly raised grass fed, grass finished beef continues to grow. Grass fed, grass finished beef purchases in the U.S. have seen significant growth over the last decade. According to Nielsen data, sales grew from $17 million in 2012 to $272 million in 2016. In 2019, grass fed beef supermarket sales reached nearly $480 million, showing 15% year-over-year growth. Certified Piedmontese looks to not only capitalize on recent market growth, but also continue setting the standard for high-quality, source-verified, grass fed, grass finished beef produced in the U.S.

Certified Piedmontese Grass Fed, Grass Finished BeefCertified Piedmontese cattle are raised on the plains of the Midwest, where the cattle eat grass, flowering plants like sunflowers and milkweed, seeds from grasses such as wheat and millet, and roughage like hay and alfalfa. The cattle never receive grain and graze open pastures as much as seasonally permissible. Certified Piedmontese cattle never receive antibiotics, hormones, or animal by-products. Ranchers employ low-stress handling techniques that respond to the natural instincts and behaviors of the cattle to keep them calm and healthy. These responsible practices ensure a high-quality grass fed beef product that meets consumer expectations, including their increasing concerns for how and where their food is grown and raised.

About Certified PiedmonteseCertified Piedmontese is a healthier beef option that doesn't sacrifice flavor or tenderness. With fewer calories, less fat, and higher protein per ounce than beef from other breeds, it's an ideal source of lean protein for a healthy diet. Piedmontese cattle are raised responsibly on family ranches across the Midwest through a ranch-to-fork process that ensures traceability, environmental sustainability, humane animal handling, and responsible resource management at every step.  Progressive stockmanship values such as low stress handling protocols and the elimination of added growth hormones, antibiotics, and animal by-products ensure healthier cattle and higher-quality beef for consumers who won't settle for anything less.
