DW ~ Nine and Rose Apr 29th 2020, 09:47 I just recently watched series 11 and 12 of Doctor Who. Y'know, with the 13th Doctor. And I have a few things to say... Doctor Who series 11 and 12 spoilers below, for those of you who don't want spoilers. It was the most boring shit I've ever seen. The writing is so poor, the music is bland and worst of all, the Doctor has NO personality whatsoever! It's a shame, because she could've been brilliant. Not to mention her companions or her, ugh ... "fam". They are just as bland as a week old loaf of bread. None of them clash with the Doctor, or each other. They all seem to be comfortable with each other and go "oh it's not your fault" every god damned time anything happens that could've been the Doctor's or her companion's fault. The series aren't even consistent! All other things that have been established in the past are just forgotten about and never mentioned again! For example, in Day of The Doctor, it's clearly established that the Doctor saved Gallifrey by putting it into a pocket dimension. However, it's almost impossible for the Doctor to enter this pocket dimension, let alone find it. It's even proven when Missy told 12 the coordinates to Gallifrey, and when he checked there was no Gallifrey there, reinforcing what he already knew. But in series 11 & 12, the Master can just travel to Gallifrey? With no problems? And so can The Doctor? What? I get that when The Doctor actually got to Gallifrey, she entered that gate thingy to escape the Cybermen, but earlier The Master told her "You should visit Gallifrey, see what I did" or some shit, as if it's that easy. What the heck? The Master was just disappointing. No explaination on how he survived getting killed by himself, and no signs of him wanting to be good in his previous incarnation! What the fuck? In Modern Who, the Master's personality goes deeper than "haha, I'm crazy and insane, and I just want to kill everything and I want power hahahahaa. Also, I want to kill the Doctor just because." He doesn't really want to kill The Doctor, instead he wants to kind of one-up him, but this new Master is just bland. Basic "villain" with no other motives than "I want power, I want my enemy dead just because." And the worst episode in series 11 & 12 has to be The Timeless Children. I like the concept of the Timelords being the result of one species splicing on the Timeless Child's DNA, but the Doctor being the Timeless Child is the worst decision Chibnall has made, which says alot because all of his decisions are absolutely horrible. It would've been WAY better if the Timeless Child was someone completely different, someone neither us or the Doctor knew about. Then you'd have a good starting point for another season where the Doctor maybe goes out looking for the Timeless Child, or rescues it. The Doctor being the Timeless Child doesn't work, because it clashes with previous information that has already been established. The Doctor being the Timeless Child means she has infinite amount of regenerations, but that clashes with 11 having to receive a new set of regenerations from the Timelords, because he simply didn't have any more regenerations left. All in all, series 11 and 12 is a huge disappointment, and I believe Chibnall succeeded in his goal of making Doctor Who challenging to watch. By that I mean, it's challenging to watch because of how boring, bland, poorly written and all in all, how shit it is. Good job, Chibnall. You daft cunt. So, to end things off, I decided to rewatch 9 and 10's run, just to cleanse my mind of the shit I just saw. I'm currently finishing up 9's run, and holy fucking shit it's so much better than the shit Chibnall put out.  I never really gave 9 that much attention, since he only had 1 season and that wasn't enough for me to get attached, but I honestly do believe he's fantastic. ~~ Important ~~ The art in this drawing is created by me.
